If given the chance to design the summons of the next Final Fantasy game, this is what I came up with. if this gets more than 10,000 views like my Urban Justice piece, I'll do another one with the other summons
before reading on, please check out my video project![link]
Phoenix - I watched Batman Beyond as a kid and was inspired by how Blight was drawn, the over all concept of flames covering a skeleton came from that one. very happy with the colors a I use for this one.
Ramuh - I love Matthew McConaughey, my Ramuh is based on him from the Reign of Fire movie, I just wanted to deviate from the usual old man wizard stereotype hence giving him an ubermensch look. I have no idea why I did not give him legs though, I just think it looks cool.
Leviathan - more or less stuck to the original. Made him a little more fish-like by giving him various traits from the moray eel, blue whale and swordfish.
Odin - Had so much fun with this one. very much Todd McFarlane's Spawn inspired. I know he's suppose to be a Norse God, but gave him a trait Greek God usually have; less clothing. I seriously wanted him not to have a crotch guard but decided otherwise.
Bahamut - just stuck to the formula of a classic western dragon. why fix something that's not broken. basically just an amalgam of all the bahamuts in the Final Fantasy series.
Siren - Did't really want to include her here but there was only 1 female in this piece, Shiva, so I decided to put another female in. basically a more adult version of the one in FF VIII.
Ifrit - for those who know me, Akira Toriyama has always been a big inspiration in my art. hence Ifrit is a little Goku-ish in this one. I went with a more humanoid one but had Beast from Disney's Beauty and Beast in mind while I did this too.
Alexander - Did not really do so much details on him, just a more or less generic robot design of mine.
Shiva - If it is any indication, I love Marvel comics, more or less I'm trying to emulate art from their artists. Shiva is more or less inspired by Iceman of the X-Men with the whole body made of ice look. I would have done a more detailed Shiva but I don't think it would have fit in the whole piece.
